Become a Board Member
We are currently looking for talents in:
Title: Director of Public Relations
Term Length: 2 years
Description: University of Illinois Asian American Alumni Network (UIAAAN) is comprised of over 5,000 members representing three campuses. The volunteer board of directors works to deepen the relationship for the University of Illinois through virtual discussion, mentoring, events, and other types of collaboration. The Board is seeking a director of public relations to further efforts to educate, engage, and connect alumni across the United States and around the world.
Role Expectations:

Collaborate with board members to create and develop partnerships through comprehensive public relations activities including social media, image and branding, and marketing programs.

Promote beneficial public relations initiatives with Network, alumni clubs, campus partners & other stakeholders.

Assist in the curation of content for for UIAAAN website and production of UIAAAN newsletter

Compile best practices for year-round public relations initiatives for Network.

Serve as mentor to interns and other student representatives from campus organizations.

Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Develop collateral material - brochures, posters, etc in collaboration with other members of the Board.
Skills Required:
Some working knowledge and access to design software prefered (but not required)
Familiarity and comfort with major social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, etc)
Ability to work autonomously
Meet agreed upon deadlines
3- 5 hours / month
Quarterly face to face meetings
Attend events to represent UIAAAN
Ability to work collaboratively in virtual environments
